What is the most objectionable thing you have heard off the platform?
by restrangled ini know many have quoted ridiculous statements from the assemblies etc., i just wonder what irked you most off of the platform in your own kh.. the one that sticks out in my mind was when we had a guest speaker on a sunday for the public talk.
i don't remember the theme but his main point was the starving people in africa did not need food.
he stated they needed spiritual food and would opt for that over a meal because they realize they could eat in the new order and there was no need to send any donations directly.

How much should a married woman show?
by greendawn indo you think a married woman should go out provocatively dressed?
some of my friends accept it some don't and one had big arguments with his wife about the issue until the time when he cunningly got her to become overweight something that spoilt her good looks.
think of it, a married woman going out wearing tight shorts showing so much leg and buttocks and a top that reveals too much breast, as if almost saying "i am going out to entice some men", should a dignified husband accept that?

Thunderstorms: Scare You Now?

i'm fine with storms now but before if i was sleeping and thunder woke me up i'd automatically think this could be the end.. i know an exjw now who gets nervous if there's a storm, she hasn't been able to break free completely from that childhood belief in the back of her mind.. how about you?

Most of you dont know me, it's been a while... but I went through some stuff and eventually got my family intact from Dubland, and at this time were living with my mum, and all were originally Catholic before... yadada.... and there is thunder and my little girl tells me it's because Jesus and the angels are angry and she was frightened. It was something she heard from my catholic mum! Now I was not very impressed. Surprise. She was 4 at the time, so some possibilities for stories popped into my imagination, but you know I just told her the (only slightly) more boring reality, and the next time it thundered she told me not to be frightened as it was just the clouds rubbing together that makes the lightening that makes the air go bang! At 4! Oh bless.

Vegetarianism

it's well known that adam and eve were vegetarian.
there was only ever a concession given by god to allow meat eating after the flood as there was no vegetation so it was forced and rather a temporary fix up rather than a new permanent diet.

Each time I go to McDonalds I see..........

each time i go to the mcdonalds near by, i see jehovah witnesses there.
either for their morning break in the field service, or just an afternoon coffee, or an evening lunch i'll meet one or a few there.. last night i went to the drive through at mcdonalds, and noticed that the car in front of me looked familiar....and finally i saw that it was a brother.. i'm pretty sure you'll find mcdonald restaurants in the new system .

When you die and decompose, and your nutrients return to the soil, all the really holy vegetables hoping to get a good karma next time, will rufuse to eat you. (You can recognise the holy vegetables as they tend to grow all alone.)

It's been ages since I wuz around here! Just to give you a brief update for those who remember me, things have turned around, all for the better,had reconciliation with wife, back together, & wife & daughter safely out of the Borg. Managed to finally sell my business, and we are off to South America as I can't take any more special English sunshine. (You know, the wet type!) Phew!
So, I'm feelin' fairly chirpy, wanted to say hello, and thought I'd share a little giggle with you. I've lurked and read a few posts, and some of you sure need a pick-me-up.

Ah... yet another wonderful memory resurrected from the wonderful world of DumbDome Halls. Another book study: a different elder, and, naturally, off his bleedin' head.
Every single week he would say, "I am just thinking of one word..." And that was it, no matter how long it took we had to find out what that one word was before we could move on. It would be one word in the section we were studying. Now all of the less pedantic amongst had real fun with this, as you can imagine...
"Is the word... erm... Bethel?" No. "Wild Beast?" No, no. "Oh hang on, erm... Oh I know, Organisation!" NO non no! Etc.
